The clouds will be a daisy chain, so let me see you smile again.

Today was a chilly morning, so Mommy had me all bundled up when we first woke up.

I'm always quick to get rid of any hat she makes me wear, though!
Then I showed Mommy just how big I can smile before she and Grandma took me back to see Dr. Brown.
Then I surprised her by saying 'Hi' after she did. Mommy isn't sure if I actually said it or not, but I was sure trying!

Mommy and Daddy were right about the shoe being the wrong size, so Dr. Brown decided to put another cast on since my foot had started turning back already from having no shoes or cast on for a couple days. We'll go back in a couple of weeks and get it taken off and have the right size shoe for me to wear.

Help me get my feet back on the ground! Won't you please, please help me?

Yesterday, Millie the shoe store owner called and said that my shoes and bar were in, so today Mommy, Grandma, and I went to go pick them up. Afterward we went to Dr. Brown's to see if they were the right fit, but his office was closed. Mommy doesn't think it's the right size though, so she's taking me back tomorrow to check. If the shoe doesn't fit just right, my foot will grow wrong and we don't want that!Afterward, Mommy and I went back to work where we got a visit from Aunt Jenn and Cousin Declan.
And Aunt Jamie and Cousin Michael came out too, but I slept most of the time they were here.

You get a shot of rhythm and blues with just a little rock and roll on the side. Just for good measure, get a pair of dancing shoes!

Look ma, no cast!
Today we went to see Dr. Brown. We got my cast taken off and they x-rayed my foot. After looking at the picture of my bones, Dr. Brown said that I didn't need another cast and that I can have shoes! My foot and leg were pretty bruised and sensitive after having those casts on for so long though, so I didn't like anyone to touch them. We went to a shoe store near the doctor to get the shoes he wants me to wear, but she didn't have the right one in stock. Mommy and Daddy had her order a pair for me which she said would be in in a couple of days. The shoe has to fit just right or my foot won't heal the way Dr. Brown wants it to. Both shoes are connected with a bar in the middle. One of them is pointed at 70 degrees and the other is pointed at 40. It looks a bit like this, except that the bar I'm getting will be blue.
It was a pretty tiring day, but Mommy was excited to get me into my footie pajamas. I couldn't wear them before because my casts wouldn't fit inside.
I have to admit they were pretty comfy.
But I prefer to wear nothing at all!

Take out some insurance on me baby!

Today was my checkup with Dr. Bardwell, my pediatrician. It was a very good visit!
First, I got to pee on the nurse when she weighed me. I weighed 9 lb 8 oz with my cast. Next she measured me to see how long I was and how big around my head was. I'm 22 1/4" tall and my head is 14 1/2" around. Then she looked inside my ears and nose with a flashlight before she shined it in my eyes. Then she asked mommy some questions to make sure I'm doing the things I'm supposed to at my age, like noticing when mommy walks in the room and staying awake for over an hour. She tested to see how well I held my head up, and was very impressed. I really like my doctor!

Ob-la-di, ob-la-da life goes on, braaaaa! Lalalala life goes on!

Today I am one month old!

In this short month I have:
  • smiled, both at people and in my sleep.
  • begun to stay awake for longer periods of time.
  • started turning my head toward my parent's faces and voices.
  • started watching people's faces.
  • begun to mimic other's expressions.
  • learned to stick out my tongue.
  • been able to hold my head up for for several minutes when in a sitting position.
  • been able to hold my head up for about a minute when placed on my stomach.
  • begun to make sounds.
  • learned to roll over occasionally.
  • started reaching toward objects that catch my attention.
  • had four different casts.

Mommy and Daddy are very proud of all of my accomplishments!

Take these broken wings and learn to fly. All your life, you were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Today Aunt Jamie and Uncle Mike brought cousin Michael out to watch Grandpa Larry fly his powered parachute. We met Grandma Vicki II, Great Grandma Marie, and Great Aunt Judy to watch him fly. The mosquitoes were really nasty, so Mommy and I watched from the car. He made a few big circles overhead before practicing how to land. Before it got dark he packed everything up.
Silly Aunt Jamie tried on his helmet, but Daddy didn't get the picture in time.
We went back to Grandpa Larry and Grandma Vicki II's house for dinner and Michael and I napped in their big bed.
It was my first sleepover. Cousin Mike sure is snuggly!

I've got to admit it's getting better, a little better all the time.

Yeserday we went for a visit to Grandpa Larry and Grandma Vicki II's. We had a good time and they both got to hold me, but I ended up throwing up all over both of them so Mommy and Daddy had to take me home in one of their blankies.I was sad to go,
but pretty soon Mommy and Daddy had a smile on my face.
Today we went to the doctor and they cut off my cast. Everyone was really impressed with how straight my foot looked and Dr. Brown said that he'd take an x-ray next time to see how things are improving. Maybe this will be my last cast! Here is a picture of how my foot was curved when I was born:
And this is what it looks like now.
My foot isn't really furry like Sierra's, that's cotton that they glue to my leg that lines the inside of the cast so it doesn't hurt me.

The sun went out, just like a light. Remember that September in the rain.

Good morning! Today was the first day of a whole new month, September. It was also Saturday, which meant that Daddy didn't have to go to work.
We spent the morning working on new tricks. Daddy taught me how to stick out my tongue.

First, I had to find out exactly where my tongue was located. Then out it came! Mommy couldn't get a very good picture, but she did catch it on video which she'll post as soon as she can.
After that was bathtime. This was a very silly bath as I spent the whole time sticking my tongue out at Mommy.
She even got me to give a little wave for the camera.
After that we went to spend some time with Uncle Jr. and Aunt Jen. It was really quiet at their house without all the kids, so I made up for it with my own noises! It was raining when we left, so Daddy bundled me up really well before we went outside.
