I get by with a little help from my friends.

It was raining so heavily this morning that Mommy and Daddy decided not to go to the reunion as it was in the park and they didn't want me to get wet. Instead, we went over to Great Granny Shirl's house to visit. It was the first time they got to meet me, and they were all really excited. First Granny held me,



Then my Great Aunt Jen,

my other Great Aunt Tammy,

and my cousin Kasey. She just found out that she's going to have a baby, I can't wait to meet my baby cousin!

We had fun visiting with everyone, then we left and went to Great Grandma LaVerta's and Great Grandpa Don's to visit for a bit. Great Grandma just loves to hold me.
I showed her just how big I can yawn!
After that, we went to meet my new best friend, Cooper. Cooper is Mommy's friend Angi's new baby. He's just a few days younger than I am! We were both very tired so we napped through the whole visit. Luckily we'll have plenty of time to play together when we're a little older.

I stop and I turn and I go for a ride.

Today we went to Buchanan, Michigan to watch Uncle Jr. race his dirtbike at Redbud. It was his first race in a looooooooong time!

It was exciting to watch him zoom around the track, but he went so fast it was kind of hard to get a good picture.

We missed his first race because we took so long getting around in the morning, but we did get to see his second race. Getting to play in all that dirt looked like tons of fun! I can't wait until I get to play in the dirt.

I spent most of the day zonked out in my stroller. It was fun cruising around all those big bumps and ruts and I'd get mad if Mommy stopped pushing. Finally I let her take a break from pushing and fell asleep.

I slept all the way home. I needed my sleep because Mommy said tomorrow is going to be a big day as we have a family reunion to go to!

My pappy told me there'd be times like these, there's nothing shakin' but the leaves on the trees.

Daddy was the first to wake up in the morning and caught Mommy and I snuggling soundly on the living room floor. Everything was much quieter outside and Daddy headed out to work.
Mommy and I had another quiet day of reading and playing. I pay close attention when Mommy reads to me; her stories are fun!

After Daddy got home from work, PaPaw, Granny, Uncle Jeff, and Cousin Aaron came to visit and sign my cast. I was pretty sleepy when they came over, but I still let everyone get a chance to hold me.
Before they left I was hungry, and Aaron got to feed me.

If the rain comes, they run and hide their heads.

Today, Mommy and I had a quiet day resting at home until Daddy got home from work. We worked on tummy time and Mommy read me lots of stories. Mommy even got me to smile while reading 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.' I have a lot in common with this caterpillar, as I love to eat as much as I can!



Mommy was really impressed with how well I held my head up during our tummy time workouts. Holding my head up for so long was really tiring, so I rested in my boppy while Mommy and Daddy got dinner and watched T.V.


Suddenly there was a terrible thunderstorm with bright lightning and loud thunder, so Daddy set up camp downstairs. We laid big blankets out on the floor in front of the T.V. and watched the weather reports until the weatherman said the chances of tornadoes were past and Mommy and Daddy thought it was safe to go to sleep.


Camping out downstairs was really fun, and I didn't mind the loud noises of storm much at all. I slept snugly with Mommy and Daddy until morning.

As we live a life of ease, every one of us has all we need.

Today is my one week birthday!
My Grandma Vicki, Aunt Kimmie and Cousin Tatum, Aunt Jamie and Cousin Mike, Gigi, Aunt Jenn and cousins Declan, Gracee, Nichole and TJ all came for a visit. Grandma Vicki was the first to hold me.


I was upset at first, but I quickly quieted down when she fed me.



Aunt Kimmie took lots of pictures, everyone was really excited to finally see my eyes since I usually like to sleep all day normally.








We settled down and everyone got their chance to hold me.

I had a big day visiting with everyone, so I slept while they had lunch.



Daddy and Uncle Jr. came up from work to have lunch with everyone before they had to leave.


I was soon back to sleep!

I've got to admit it's getting better, a little better all the time!

Today we went to see Dr. Brown, the orthopedic surgeon. He was a really nice doctor and he explained everything really well to Mommy and Daddy. As I explained yesterday, I have a condition called club foot, which is very common and very easy to fix.

Basically, my left foot points inward instead of straight forward. It doesn't hurt at all. Dr. Brown explained the condition to us and the procedure to fix it, which is to place the foot in a series of casts, each one bending the foot slightly more toward the right position. Sometimes the casts are all that is needed to fix it, sometimes they need to do a very non-invasive surgery when I'm about a year old.

Dr. Brown told us that they would put a new cast on next week and then again every week to 10 days for a while and then the time span will get gradually longer to about 2 months. They'll continue casting for a year or until the casting doesn't cause any more changes, whichever comes first.

I impressed the doctors and nurses so much during our visit! One of the nurses took Mommy and Daddy aside and let them know that they'd bend my foot as far as they could without breaking it and then place the cast on. They said that this would be very painful for me and that I'd scream and be inconsolable for quite sometime. They wanted them to know so that if one or both of them wanted to step out of the room they could. They both stayed though and are happy they did! I didn't cry one bit, in fact I slept right through it, which the doctor and nurse couldn't believe! The nurse told us that some of the pro-football players that come in cry when Dr. Brown does that to them, so I'm definitely tough.

I impressed them all again after they put the cast on. The nurse told us that the cast would be heavy and that I wouldn't be able to lift my leg so they would have to support it for me. As soon as the sentence came out of her mouth, I had to prove her wrong, so I threw my entire leg straight up in the air! I can't have them thinking I'm a little weakling!

Mommy and Daddy brought me home and signed my little cast. It doesn't really bother me at all and I can move it all by myself. Mommy said she'd have everyone sign my cast.

I was pretty tired once we got home though, so Mommy and I settled in at home and had a nice long nap.

She was a day tripper a Sunday driver, yeah! Took me so long to find out, and I found out.

Today was Sunday and I spent a quiet day at home with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy quickly found out that my favorite place to be when I'm not being held is in the swing that I got from Auntie Jenn and Uncle Jr. , so I get to swing a lot. You probably have noticed my left foot looks a little different from the right one. That's because I have a condition called club foot that's actually pretty common. It doesn't hurt at all and it's very easy to fix. In fact, we're going tomorrow to visit the Orthopedic Surgeon.

They took some honey from a tree, dressed it up, and called it me. Everybody's trying to be my baby!

One of my favorite things to do is sit up. I love sitting in my boppy, sometimes I even sleep sitting up! Just don't try to wake me up or you'll get 'the look.'
Saturdays are really fun, Daddy stays home and on this particular Saturday I got to meet my Great Grandma LaVerta and Great Grandpa Don.
She was really excited to meet me and wanted to take me home and keep me, but Mommy wouldn't let her. Luckily, she'll have lots of visits with me because she doesn't live very far away! Tomorrow is Sunday, another day that Daddy gets to stay home from work!
